All my life, because of my illness, I have felt pressure weighing on me—from family, friends, strangers, and myself. Those who tried to heal me with words and gestures have, slowly and subtly, created more and more problems. Over time, these have multiplied and intertwined, failing to grasp the core of the issue, leaving it submerged and locked away.

The artwork consists of two elements.
In the foreground is a gauze support upon which a print reveals itself. It is an archival photo showing my stomach being caressed by my father, while simultaneously, in the background, his imposing figure can be seen taking up all my space.
Behind the print is a mass of intertwined black jute ropes of varying sizes. The ropes evoke the aesthetic of intestines. There are no loose ends; neither the beginning nor the end is visible—much like the answers I seek, and will always seek, regarding my illness: When did it start? Where does it come from? Will it ever end? Why does it persist? There seems to be no end.
The tarlatan fabric creates this veiled effect, allowing the mass behind it to show through. Stepping closer, the interwoven ropes become increasingly distinct; stepping back, as the eyes adjust, the print slowly begins to emerge with a "ghostly" effect, like a memory materializing.
